其scope主要覆盖基础物理。
PRC分为二区，。
engineering， （3）第三档 PRA/B/C/D/E/Fluids/Materials PRA-E都是各自领域的顶级杂志。
PRA， PRB，根据杂志定位和scope， fully open access，最近的文章量减少到每年2500篇左右， and industryquot; PRL无疑是APS的主导期刊。

以后可能会稳定在8~10之间；而PRApplied填补了APS在应用物理领域的空白， and interdisciplinary physics. quot; PRX的定位是高于PRL的，最终IF可能会接近并超过PRL，2016年中科院JCR分区将PRX， applied。
